How hard is it to start a business as a woman? From setting up a market stall, sourcing ingredients, building a brand, managing taxes and contracts, to handling the chaos of live events—every step is a challenge.
In our premiere episode of SV Night, we’re joined by two fearless young founders: Peggy Hsieh of OMG Entertainment and Vivian Ho from Taiwan’s iFoodmap. They’ll share their journey from zero to one—how they pushed through the lowest points, and what they learned along the way.
We’re also honored to welcome Dr. Chang Chiu, a highly respected attorney and legal voice in the Chinese-American community. She’ll break down how to avoid common legal pitfalls in your entrepreneurial journey, whether you're just starting out or already running your own brand.
The conversation will be moderated by Sophie Lin, IP attorney at ITRI (Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute), who will also share practical legal steps for building and protecting your brand.
Because entrepreneurship takes more than passion—it takes protection.
We’ll also dive into mental health, stress management, and how to build the support systems every founder needs.
✨ The session includes live Q&A and open-floor sharing — a space to ask, connect, and feel seen. Don’t cry alone on your startup journey — come laugh, learn, and grow with us at SV9.

Attorney
Chang Chiu
Dr. Chang Chiu, born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a practicing attorney in the United States, a public interest lawyer, and a prominent legal author. She previously served as a legislator in the Legislative Yuan of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Dr. Chiu holds a bachelor’s degree from National Taiwan University, a J.D. from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Rutgers University, with a distinguished academic and professional background spanning both Taiwan and the United States.
She was the host of “Chiu Chang Talks Law” on Star Chinese Channel in Hong Kong, making her the first ethnic Chinese legal professional to host a televised legal talk show. Over the years, she has been a tireless advocate for promoting legal education and gender equality among Chinese women.
Dr. Chiu is also the curator of Herstory, a touring exhibition on the legal history of Chinese women. Since 2015, the exhibition has been featured in 23 museums across Taiwan and the United States. Its second chapter, Herstory 2, launched in San Francisco in 2022 and is scheduled to tour through 2026.
In addition, she has compiled and published 17 volumes of oral histories of Chinese women, which have become valuable additions to major libraries around the world.

OMG Entertainment CEO
Peggy Hsieh
OMG Entertainment seamlessly integrates online community marketing with large-scale offline event production. Backed by strong local networks and media partnerships, the company helps brands amplify visibility, foster engagement, and unlock real business opportunities.
With a deep focus on the West Coast—particularly within Chinese-speaking communities—OMG has cultivated long-term relationships across city governments in the Bay Area, delivering impactful, culturally resonant events that bridge brands with local audiences.

iFoodmap CEO
Vivian Ho
With a background in food and nutrition, Vivian has over 16 years of experience in the restaurant and foodservice industry, including running her own restaurant and sourcing more than a thousand types of ingredients. She once spent a month and a half just trying to source a single ingredient — a firsthand experience that exposed the lack of transparency and low level of digitization among traditional producers and ingredient suppliers.
To address these challenges, Vivian founded iFoodmap — a B2B ingredient sourcing and matchmaking platform. iFoodmap has integrated over 700 suppliers across Taiwan and helped more than 6,500 foodservice businesses connect with the right ingredients and suppliers. The platform not only improves procurement efficiency but also gives greater visibility to high-quality ingredients and producers.
She is committed to digitizing the food procurement process and providing a SaaS platform that supports matchmaking, quotation, and ordering for both buyers and suppliers. Currently, she is actively expanding into the U.S. market to validate local demand, localize the product offering, and develop strategic partnerships. Her goal is to build a global ingredient sourcing ecosystem that connects Asia to the world.

Attorney
Sophie Lin
She currently serves as Project Director at the Technology Transfer and Legal Center of ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), as well as Vice Chair of the Hsinchu Bar Association and Chair of its Committee on Technology Law.
