Every submission is anchored in one of eight core human emotions: Joy, Sorrow, Intensity, Serenity, Love, Hate, Desire, and Disgust. Our audience and jury will confront a vital question: "How was this made?" matters less than "Did it move you?"

How the Judging Process Works

 

During the second week of September 2026, you will receive secure access to judge up 16 short films: two per core emotion. Each pair matches a human-directed film nominated by traditional cinematography leaders against an AI-generated film nominated by tech industry pioneers. To ensure absolute impartiality, this is a completely blind evaluation. Without knowing how each entry was created, your task is to judge them solely on how effectively they represent or trigger viewer's emotion. Maximum length of each film is 30 minutes, so total commitment should be about 2 to 3 hours.
